Part of Ionos’s cloud offering, Ionos Object Storage provides high-availability, scalable object storage for archiving, backups, and hybrid cloud use. It features standard S3 compatibility, as well as WORM-compliant Object Lock for legal compliance and retention. The service is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR-compliant. Data is currently hosted in secure Ionos data centers located in Germany, Spain, and the USA (with European locations chosen for local customers). Ionos highlights “massive price/performance advantage” over hyperscalers, charging only for storage used with transparent billing. The platform offers optional georedundant replication and detailed access controls. This makes it suitable for European businesses requiring audit-proof, long-term storage of critical data under EU regulations.
