This app brings real-time co-editing and commenting capabilities to Nextcloud. It includes collaborative editors for text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and a PDF viewer/editor, all supporting Microsoft Office file formats. Users can open, edit, and collaboratively work on DOCX, XLSX, PPTX and ODT files directly in their browser, with changes saved to Nextcloud. Nextcloud Office is built on open standards (HTML5) and runs inside the user’s Nextcloud server for data privacy. It integrates with Nextcloud features: for example, Office documents stored in Nextcloud Files, and chat discussions can link to Office content. In short, Nextcloud Office provides an open-source, self-hosted alternative to Microsoft Office 365/Google Workspace for document collaboration.
